Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding, from January 11 - 16, 2011
More than 100,000 enthusiastic fans followed the six days of the 2011 Biathlon World Cup event at Ruhpolding's new Chiemgau Arena, with athletes praising the new and extremely challenging tracks with their steeper ascents and faster descents. The wider tracks made overtaking maneuvers easier, hence making the competition even more interesting.
Despite extreme weather conditions, erecting the RÖDER tent landscape took just four weeks and the result was quite a spectacle:
a RÖDER Solution Highend 30x60m was used as the main VIP tent during the World Cup and offered refuge for up to 1,700 guests each day. 80% of this tent was fitted with a glass façade, which provided VIP guests with an outstanding view of the sporting events on the starting straight, the shooting gallery and the Omega penalty track. First-rate facilities with kitchens on both floors, a crèche and four sponsor areas provided superlative comfort. Furthermore, the VIP tent was linked to the new main stand.
The cubic tent complex blended excellently into the overall appearance of the new arena.
The
large 15x20m tent with its solid façade was available to athletes as a
"family tent" and was equipped with a kitchen, Internet access for
family contact as well as separate rooms for the crews.
In the
entrance area, a two-story 5x40m tent with four entrance points and ten
4x4m party tents and a 5x5m HIGHLIGHT were used as entrance checkpoints
and for accreditation purposes.
